Massage Styles and Modalities

Deep Tissue: This massage is designed to relieve tension in the muscles and connective tissue,  focusing mostly on deeper layers of muscles.  Recommended for clients who experience consistent pain, athletes, those involved in heavy physical activity, or clients who have sustained physical injury from an accident or stress.  Deep tissue work varies greatly. Relaxation: Ths style manipulates the superficial and some times the deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue to help enhance function, aid in healing, increase circulation, and promote true relaxation and well-being.  This style is very soothing and rejuvenating. Pregnancy: Prenatal massage can be an instrumental ingrediant in woman’s prenatal care. Our Massage techniques are specific to help you reduce anxiety, decrease symptoms of depression, relieve muscle aches and joint pains, improve circulation, and prepare muscle, bones, and ligaments for labor.  Our staff are certified in prenatal massage as well as cerified doulas.  We take extensive care in creating a comfortable enviroment for you and your growing baby.  Massage can be done sideline with supported pillows or with a pregnancy cushion. Myofascial Release: This massage technique is a form of soft tissue therapy used to treat somatic dysfunction (impaired muscular, nervous, or lymphatic systems which results in pain when the body is moving). This helps to relax constricted muscles, increase circulation and lymphatic drainage, and stimulate the stretch reflex of muscles and connective tissue.   Crainialsacral Therapy/Body Balancing: This form of hands on therapy restores balance to the mind, body and spirit.  This gentle massage includes work with the spine, skull, cranial sutures, diaphragm and muscle fascia.  This helps unblock restricted nerve passages and to move cerebrospinal fluid moving through the spinal cord back to its optimal flow.   This technique is good for mental stress, neck and back pain, migraines, TMJ, fibromyalgia, as well as pregnancy and infancy.
