Sarah began her career1999 as a massage therapist, simultaneouslyincorporating yoga into her life. She was hooked on the heat & movement. She continued to make bodywork & breath a major part of her life, understand that Yoga wasn't just about physical flexibility, but it taught her rules to live by. In 2009, she became a certified vinyasa and hot yoga instructor. Yoga taught her to use breath to move through difficult postures on and off the mat, to stay flexible, which she loves to share in her teachings as it parallels life so well. She opened S1 Yoga Stillwater in November 2011 with her husband. Sarah's is passionate about bringing "Community's together as One." They live Downtown Stillwater with their 5 children.
Dariush Moslemi - Instructor
Dariush Moslemi: Always a skeptic of yoga or anything like it, Dariush grew up in the pool as a competitive swimmer while also practicing martial arts. Having spent his college career in the military and training in Tae Kwon Do, Dariush felt he knew all there was to know about health and wellness....until yoga. Talked into a power vinyasa class by a girl (of course), he figured if he went and got it out of the way he could be left alone about trying it. Seven days and seven classes later, he knew he was hooked and was already sharing with everyone in his life the benefits he was experiencing and how much he loved the well rounded workout, through body, mind and spirit. Not to long after his first class, Dariush enrolled in teacher training and became a certified 200 hour yoga instructor, following that up with an extended training refining his knowledge. He has since been an instructor throughout the twin cities in both large format classes and small private lessons. Dariush strives to bring yoga to the “everyman, woman or child,” having been such a skeptic himself, relates to his students through humor and humility while showing everyone how they are flexible, strong, confident, and ready for yoga.
Sara Wait - Director of Education/Instructor
Sara first stepped onto her yoga mat for a college PE credit in 2003. She immediately fell in love with the practice and discipline of connecting one's mind, body, spirit with breath and movement. Sara's love for her practice and desire to redirect her life's path inspired her to complete her first 200-hour teaching certification in the Spring of 2014. Since then she has committed to hundreds of hours of continuing education and lives by the mantra "if you stop learning you stop growing."
In 2015 I took a yoga class on a whim with a friend, purely as a form of physical fitness. Instantly I fell in love, and it was not long before I realized that this practice went far deeper than the physical body. Yoga helped me deal with me severe anxiety in a way that nothing else had previously done. Soon after beginning my practice I completed both Yoga Sculpt Teacher Training and 200 Hour Power Yoga Training, and had the pleasure of teaching at Studio One. In July of 2016 I quit my full time job as a Research Chemist to pursue my dream of teaching yoga and fitness classes full time. I am now honored to teach every format offered at Studio One, and love every minute of using my passion to help others find theirs!
Caitlin Gottschalk - Instructor
Caitlin is RYT200 in Vinyasa style yoga which emphasizes linking breath and movement through a fluid series of postures. She found her practice over ten years ago and has enjoyed every moment of this powerful journey ever since. When not on her mat, she can be found reading up on astrology, pulling tarot cards, or playing with her crystal singing bowls...which sometimes tag along with her to classes! Caitlin works closely with her community bringing free yoga and mediation to at-risk youth and she also coordinates astrologically-inspired meditation events through her company CTG Yoga.
Rachel King - Instructor
Rachel came to her mat in 2005 looking for a low stress whole body workout during pregnancy. Always being a fitness junkie the practice of yoga both physically and mentally introduced her to a more holistic approach on life. To deepen her practice she completed her 200 hour teacher training in 2015. It was then that she realized teaching yoga fulfilled a very special place in her heart and set on a path to share the practice with as many people as she can. She is known for her uplifting energy, fun-loving attitude, and warm contagious smile. Her deep and integrated knowledge of the human body and spirit allow her to connect with any student and cater to any body type. She truly makes yoga available to everyone. Rachel currently resides in Woodbury with her daughter and fiancee.
Kate Streitz - Instructor
Kaitlin has over 400 hours of yoga certification through Core Power Yoga in Vinyasa, Hatha, Restorative and Hot Yoga. She graduated from the Green River Dance for Global Somatics in 2015 and became a practitioner of Global Somatics TM. She studied each system of the human body through dance, sound, vibration, touch, and psychophysical processing with teacher Suzanne Green River. Her yoga classes are truly of a Global Somatics inspiration channeled through yoga asana. She teaches from the wisdom of her own natural body and her energy reading of the bodies in the room. She puts a lot of love into her classes – all of her teachings are personalized moment-to-moment; based on the studio environment and students’ needs. Kaitlin’s yoga classes are intended to be liberating physically and spiritually for all students present. She often guides through and beyond self-limiting thinking and emotional energy moving through bodies; Kaitlin believes all of this can be navigated and released over time if we are willing and ready to experience real freedom! She also speaks often about the chakra system. Certain movements, combined with breath and intention, clears these passageways. She sees that most everyone on this planet carries around a great deal of past trauma, it’s in our DNA.

Hi there, my name is Taylor Star & I am so excited to be a part of your yoga journey. I recently graduated Yoga Teacher Training from Studio One Yoga & I am honored to be a part of their team. I found yoga during Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT). I credit yoga with helping me become the person I am today. Yoga inspires me to live mindfully in the present moment, I hope to inspire others to welcome mindfulness into all areas of their life. My mission is to offer a grounding space for students to explore yoga, experience the benefits & discover more inner peace
Tacy Nielson - Instructor
Tacy began practicing yoga during her freshman year of college at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities in 2006. After her first class she was addicted! Yoga gives her an opportunity to quiet her busy mind and challenge herself both physically and mentally. She completed her 200 hour teacher training in Costa Rica in 2014 with Marianne Wells. Tacy moved to San Diego with her husband in 2015 where she completed a 40 hour level 2 teacher training with CorePower Yoga, Yin Yoga Teacher Training and Yoga Nidra Teacher Training. She is also a Licensed Massage Therapist and a Level 1 Reiki healer.
Tacy is passionate about holistic healing and believes that yoga is a key element in a healthy lifestyle. It is important to her that her students have fun and leave class feeling confident, challenged and successful. Tacy’s yoga journey is constantly evolving and she loves teaching because she learns something new with every class and from every student.
Laura first tried yoga at age 14, and it has been a steady presence in her life ever since. She pursued yoga teacher training to share her passion for yoga with others. Laura completed her 200 hour teacher training in 2016 and a Yin Yoga teacher training in 2017. She loves helping students connect to their breath and be present throughout their practice. Laura enjoys running, and she finds yoga to be a great way to keep her body strong and in balance! Lastly, she works as a licensed mental health professional and incorporates mindfulness in her work with children.
Kristin Verhoeven - Instructor
Kristin became more dedicated to her yoga practice to cultivate physical and mental endurance as well as to develop a greater sense of connectedness during her undergraduate studies. She has been teaching a Hatha-style of yoga since 2014 after many years of personal practice. Yoga has invited peace, compassion and joy into her life along the way. Kristin has studied the use of yoga for addiction and recovery to share yoga’s ancient wisdom with patients she works with as a registered nurse. She also has studied ways to integrate other healing modalities such as essential oil therapy, Reiki, and Tibetan Medicine into her nursing practice through the University of Minnesota’s Center for Spirituality and Healing. The opportunity for guiding yogis and yoginis to self-discovery and personal empowerment drives her passion to share the practice with others. Kristin enjoys creating an environment of inclusivity and accessibility to all who come to their mat regardless of where they are in their own yogic journey.
Kate Resch - Instructor
Kate is a Minnesota native who first practiced yoga as a teenager, immediately falling in love with how connected she felt to her own body, the yoga mat, and the world around her. The connection of movement to breath, breath to body, and body to mind have had such profound effects for her, both physically and mentally, and she is passionate about sharing these wonderful effects of yoga with her students! Kate practiced hot yoga and Ashtanga yoga in Vermont for several years, until she decided to take the leap and deepen her connection to yoga through a Vinyasa yoga teacher training in 2012. Since then, Kate taught at several studios in Prague, Czech Republic, where she lived and taught elementary school for 6 years while also exploring and training in different styles of yoga. Kate has many years of experience and training in Kids & Family Yoga and absolutely loves making yoga accessible and fun for people of all ages! She is thrilled to be back home in Minnesota with her family and honored to be teaching at Studio One. When she isn’t practicing, teaching, or thinking about yoga, Kate is probably out enjoying the outdoors with her adorable yellow Labrador, cooking, or spending time with family and friends.
